The data collected is used exclusively to:
Photos sent for AI processing are used only for analysis and are not stored by the AI provider beyond processing. No image is reused for any other purpose.
Data is never sold, shared, or transmitted to third parties for commercial purposes.
Some app features — recipe import by photo (OCR), import from a web page, YouTube, Instagram or TikTok — rely on artificial intelligence services (LLMs, Large Language Models) to convert raw text into a structured recipe.
Data transmitted to the AI services:

Legal basis: this processing is necessary for the performance of the service (Art. 6.1.b GDPR). Since MemoCook's core feature is importing and structuring recipes, AI analysis is an inseparable component of it.
Retention: transmitted texts are not retained by the AI providers beyond immediate processing. No machine learning is performed on your data (opt-out active by default on Anthropic's and Mistral's commercial APIs).
User control: you can use MemoCook without ever using the
import features. Entering recipes manually does not involve sending any text
to an AI service.

User data is stored locally on the device by default.
If iCloud synchronization is enabled, data is stored in your personal iCloud space, subject to Apple's privacy policy.
Reasonable security measures are applied to protect user data (encryption of log files, Keychain storage for sensitive credentials, exclusion from iCloud backups for diagnostic files).
In accordance with Article 13.2.a of the GDPR, here are the retention periods applied to each category of data:

You can request the deletion of all your data at any time from Settings › Privacy › Delete my account.
